Originally from Oakland and San Francisco CA, Las Vegas-based Fans of Jimmy Century is the modwave, modsquad genre-bending duo of vocalist|voice actor Alicia Perrone and bassist|producer|video director Victor James. Full-time Las Vegas-based drummer Mike Long now tours and records with FOJC exclusively. FOJC’s “Va Va Voom to the Moon” is now playing on Netflix’s Top 10 hit show “Emily in Paris.” The song is finding new popularity thanks to media giant Pop Sugar featuring their video 2022. FOJC is now a member of the AWAL/Kobalt/Sony Music family of artists and hosted the highly anticipated Grammy pre-party in Las Vegas at their home in April 2022 corresponding with the excitement surrounding the awards show being held in Vegas for the very first time. New album “Modern Inferno” was released Sept. 30th feat. “Ring,” “Strange and Beautiful,” and their cover of Sponge’s “Wax Ecstatic.” Their icy villainess-styled version of “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch” came out 12/9/22 and saw viral popularity with TikTok influencers enjoying and interpreting their female-fronted version of the classic. Due to the song’s success, Fame Talent Agency, signed them to a livestreaming influencer deal in 2023.
Their iTunes-charting rock/electro/punk/rap song “Best of My Generation (All The Way)” distributed by United Masters was the featured NBA song on MVP 2019-2021 winner Giannis “The Greek Freak” Antetokounmpo’s highlight reel. FOJC and AWAL/Kobalt first teamed up to release “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go vs Love TKO,” a 70’s-style babymaking mod soulful remake of the 80’s Wham! classic pop song. TikTok wild child Borzah created a buzz with his dance on the platform even before the song’s release. Their comedic YouTube series “The Babymakers” was created to tease the single – a full album “Songs From The Babymakers Series,” a collection of 80s songs turned on by the 70s, is scheduled for 2023. Modern trip-hop songs are currently being recorded for two more additional albums “Noir Tartare” and “Mods & Squads” for a 2023 release.
FOJC’s uplifting funky single “Rocket Star” was mixed and mastered by supporter and Grammy-winner Luca Pretolesi known for his work with Diplo, Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, and Snoop Lion. In November 2020, Fans of Jimmy Century was invited to perform in the biggest livestream musical concert of all time, the iVoted Election Night Festival, as the top trending artist in the swing state of Nevada and was invited to perform the concert again this past November 2022.
Over 250 Film and Television syncs include Netflix’s Top 10 hit Emily in Paris, the Warner Bros. film Get Hard, NBA, Ray Donovan, Law and Order: SVU, Gossip Girl, The L Word, Finding Nemo, Hall Pass, Bad Teacher, Housewives of NYC, Snapped.
FOJC is inspired by genre-bending, creating characters/alter egos to match their songs’ vibes/videos. They create funny music videos, like the 70s-inspo prank music video spoofing buddy films for the iTunes-charting single “Best of My Generation.” The song was a big stretch from the wickedly kitsch, vampy villainous swinger “All My Friends Are Ice Queens” along with their video release of a sultry modjazz version of “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” featuring hand rod puppets. The stark contrast amongst their songwriting and delivery began their obsession with genre-bending and creating their own unique world on the fringe of the status quo. FOJC’s YouTube and branding focuses on music, comedy commentary, and pop culture/slop culture.
Back in 2013 FOJC signed with Bungalo/Universal, but left to self-release in 2015. Previous to that their former group, Siimon Stinger, was in the process of signing to Elektra (before the label folded) with their mentor, Senior A&R and rock star vocalist of The Cars, Ric Ocasek.
FOJC has been collaborating with producer Chris Moon (known for discovering Prince) and will re-launch their popular residency live production show “Fatale Originale” on the Las Vegas strip southside in 2023.
